Volunteer with HACS

Whether you are an individual looking to give something back to the community, or seeking a corporate volunteering opportunity for your staff, we have a range of activities for you to get involved in.

A commitment of your time, however small, can have a lasting effect on our charity and those we support.

We welcome different types of volunteers including:

Occasional volunteers – people who volunteer at events including fundraising activities such as gift wrapping in local shopping centres, or by representing parent views at our exhibition events.

Regular volunteers – people who take on a particular task or role on an on-going basis, such as a role within our Resource Centre or working on a particular project over a sustained period of time, including Play schemes or Youth clubs.

Corporate Volunteer Events - Research shows that volunteering helps staff develop leadership, decision-making and negotiation skills.  We'll work alongside your team to plan a fun day out that energises your team and makes a huge impact on people that need help most.

Student Placements - Volunteering can be a great way to build up the hours of experience you need to complete your apprenticeship or course.  An ideal placement opportunity for Duke of Edinburgh participants or those studying towards Teaching or Childcare qualifications.

The types of voluntary opportunities available are:

Telephone helpline volunteer

Befriend a parent/carer or autistic individual

Minibus drivers

Help at parent coffee mornings

Gift wrapping

Fundraising event assistance

“I have absolutely loved volunteering for HACS and working with the girls, HACS staff and my awesome team.  I learnt & developed so much through reflecting via this volunteering programme.  I am so grateful for the experience -massive thanks again" - Dinuli
